Why you should stop asking friends and family for rides

Please stop expecting people to pick you up from the airport

Now, some people may offer to pick you up and it’s up to you whether you accept their generous offer. And trust me when I say, it’s generous. And if you are someone’s 95-year-old grandma, I think it’s safe to say that you can probably demand to be picked up from the airport. This advice obviously should be applied on a case by case bases. But others really should find a way out of the airport on their own.

There was a time when everyone expected to be picked up at the airport

I’m old enough to remember the time when family members and friends would sometimes greet their loved ones coming off a plane.

Please, if you can, find your own way in and out of LAX.

People don’t love waking up at 5 am to take you to the airport because you found a $40 ticket on Spirit. People don’t enjoy navigating traffic during rush hour so you can get home to make your early morning work shift.

Budget airport transport into your travel costs

When traveling to a place, it’s important to calculate the costs of your flight as well as other transportation costs. If you buy an airline ticket, plan how you will get to your final destination. Your FINAL destination. You know, the place with a bed that you will sleep at, not under a blinking Southwest sign.

So how do you get out of LAX without stressing out your friends and family?
